Abstract
Healthcare systems of today can present many complex quality and safety challenges that nurses must be prepared to confront in the practice environment. Although academic nursing education attends to safety and quality competencies to meet national consensus for nursing curricula (American Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN], 2021; Engelmann et al., 2012), strategies for realistic application of these competencies are lacking (VanGraafeiland et al., 2019). Academic–practice partnerships can offer innovative clinical experiences and a direct link between academia and clinical practice for baccalaureate completion students, faculty, and employers to apply quality and safety knowledge, skills, and attitudes to transform health care and support organizational priorities.
