Abstract
Evidence Based Medicine in the House of God. Christopher Keenan, DO, Hospitalist, Medical Director of Nights
Objectives:
- Once a mainstay of required reading for Internal Medicine residency, this book has fallen into obscurity with recent graduates. It has been 50 years since the author completed his intern year, and many changes have taken place in the interim. What lessons can we still learn from this book and are any of the Laws of the House of God still relevant today?
- Demonstrate which laws of the House of God still apply from an evidence-based standpoint
- Describe whether you think a work of fiction has helped to shape the landscape of current medical practice
